Hurst Green is a village in the beautiful Ribble Valley in Lancashire, England. Close to the English Lake District and the City of Manchester.
Stoneyhurst College was home to JRR Tolkien of Lord of the Rings fame and the village is overlooked by Pendle Hill, home of the Pendle Witches and the perfect place for a celebration of all things spooky........!!
The Pendle Witches:
A true story of murder, witchcraft and revenge.The Pendle Witches were the most famous witches in English legal history.
In the year 1612, at Lancaster gaol, in the English county of Lancashire, ten men and women were hanged for the crime of witchcraft.
The Pendle Witches, were believed to have been responsible for the murder by witchcraft of seventeen people in and around the Forest of Pendle....and overlooking nearby Hurst Green!!!
