Middle Earth Beer Festival at Hurst Green 2010

The first Middle Earth Beer Festival held at Hurst Green Memorial Hall, in The Ribble Valley, Lancashire in April 2009 was a great success.

So much so that the Aspinall Arms is supporting the event again in 2010.

2010 will be bigger and better (we’ve ordered more beer!) and the intention is to make this event a highlight of the Ribble Valley Calendar.

J.R.R. Tolkien

Was a frequent visitor to Stonyhurst College in Hurst Green, and was so struck by the beauty of this landscape, where the Rivers Hodder, Calder & Ribble converge, that it is believed to have inspired his epic, The Lord of the Rings and in particular his famous map of Middle Earth.
